The Perth Zoo has successfully hand-reared four baby Numbats after keepers noticed they were not suckling and losing weight. Numbats are termite-eating marsupials from Western Australia. Native Species Breeding Program (NSBP) keeper Dani Jose says this was the first time Numbats had been hand-raised from such a young age. “The babies hadn’t yet opened their eyes and weighed less than 15 grams. At this young age, they look quite different from adult Numbats. They hadn’t developed heir stripes yet and their snouts were short and snubby,” Ms Jose says.

I was at soccer practice a few weeks ago with my 3 kids - the two older ones were playing soccer, and my 3 year old was playing with another 3 year old in the grass on the sidelines. At one point, both of the little girls started screaming, crying, and waving their arms around wildly. My first thought was they sat on an ant hill, but when I got to where they were, they were being attacked by bees! I grabbed my daughter and swatted the bees away, then I quickly got out my MelaGel Disk that I ALWAYS keep in my purse. :) My daughter had two bee stings, and I applied the MelaGel right away. The other little girl had EIGHT, and three other adults were stung. I gave them all a turn with the MelaGel, and everyone was amazed at how it immediatley took away the pain. Both girls stopped crying within a few minutes, which was amazing considering the number of stings they got! I applied the MelaGel once more after about 15 minutes, then again twice more before she went to bed. By the time she woke up, I couldn’t even find where she got stung! She never complained about it again. Others at the field were in awe at how their pain was eased so quickly and many of them told me stories of other bee sting experiences that didn’t have the same outcome. I keep a MelaGel Disk in my purse, one in the house, one in my upstairs medicine cabinet, one in each car - you never know when you’ll need it!

My 3 yr old son ws in his bedroom and found some oil crayons.( not sure where he found them) So he decided he wanted to color but instead of using paper he thought his rug would make a good canvas. Now keep in mind his rug is a light beige almost white. And rather than drawing on the entire rug he thought it would be cool just to go over the same spot with every color crayon. So low and behold there was a huge black picture in the middle of his floor. No worries though got out my Sol-U-Mel and sparyed it on. I let it sit for 15 minutes and came back and started to just wipe away. Today you would never know that it ever happened. The reason it worked so well is because the Sol-U-Mel has a high concentration of melaleuca oil which acts as a solvent and puts the stain in solution so that it can be wiped away. It is also very p enetrating and it doesn’t just sit on the surface it goes deep to dissolve from the inside.

A baby loggerhead turtle is released into the ocean for the first time. The rescued youngster seemed to be loving his first taste of freedom after being rescued and nurtured by an expert team. Photographer Eric Cheng had been following the turtle rescue programme in Palm Beach, Florida and was able to capture the youngster’s expression as it swam into the ocean.
